# My First Look and Experience with Google AntiGravity
Today, I tried the new code-editor AntiGravity by Google. The UI is almost same as Cursor because both are based on VS Code. That's why it was not hard to find what I'm looking for. First of all, the main difference as I see from the Cursor is; when I type a prompt in the agent section AntiGravity first creates a Task list and every time it finishes a task, it checks it. Actually Cursor has a similar functionality but AntiGravity took it one step further. Second thing which is good; AntiGravity uses Nano Banana 🍌... This is Google's image generation LLM. Why it's important because when you create a web page, you don't need to search for graphics, AntiGravity generates images automatically.
## Is Google AntiGravity going to replace your main code editor?

Second thing which was good to me; AntiGravity uses Nano Banana 🍌. This is Google's image generation LLM... Why it's important because when you create an app, you don't need to search for graphics, deal with image licenses. **AntiGravity generates images automatically and no license is required!**
Third exciting feature for me; **AntiGravity is integrated with Google Chrome and can communicate with the running website**. When I first run my web project, it setups a browser extension which can see and interact with my website. And it can see the results, click somewhere else on the page, scroll, fill up the forms.
Another feature I loved is that **you can enter a new prompt even while AntiGravity is still generating a response**. It instantly prioritizes the latest input and adjusts the ongoing process if needed. But in Cursor, if you add a prompt before the cursor finishes, it simply queues it and runs it later.
And lastly, **AntiGravity is working very good with Gemini 3**.

Also you **cannot debug your .NET application with AntiGravity.** This is Microsoft's policy that's why I cannot say it's a downside of AntiGravity. You need to use Microsft's original VS Code, Visual Studio or Rider
## How Much is AntiGravity?
As .NET developers, we are accustomed to "heavy" lifting. We deal with heavy architectures, robust dependency injection containers, and IDEs like Visual Studio that sometimes feel like they carry the weight of the entire universe while loading.
Currently there's only individual plan is available for personal accounts and that's free! The contents of Team and Enterprise plans and prices are not announced yet. I used it with my company Google Workspace account which we pay so Gemini 3 is free on my account.
We constantly seek lightweight solutions—faster build times, cleaner UI, and more responsive environments. Recently, I stumbled upon a tool that takes the concept of "lightweight" quite literally.

It is called **Google AntiGravity**, and while it may not replace your daily driver for ABP Framework development just yet, it introduces a radical new paradigm I like to call **Chaos-Driven Development (CDD)**.

There have been many AI assisted IDEs like [Windsurf](https://windsurf.com/), [Cursor](https://cursor.com/), [Zed](https://zed.dev/), [Replit](https://replit.com/) and [Fleet](https://www.jetbrains.com/fleet/). This project is backed with Google. **But this time, since it’s one of the ‘Magnificent 7’ it’s making a name for itself.** AntiGravity, uses a standard grid layout as others based on VS Code editor. It's very similar to Cursor, Visual Studio, Rider.

The first thing you will notice about the AntiGravity "editor" is its refusal to adhere to standard grid layouts. In traditional tools like Visual Studio or JetBrains Rider, windows are docked. The Solution Explorer stays on the right; the Output window stays at the bottom.

One of the core tenets of the ABP Framework is **Modularity**. We strive for loose coupling between our Domain, Application, and Infrastructure layers.
AntiGravity visualizes this concept perfectly. When you interact with the environment, you will see that there are absolutely no rigid dependencies holding the visual elements together. They collide, bounce, and scatter.

- **Gemini 2.5 Pro UI Checkpoint**: It's for the browser subagent to trigger browser action such as clicking, scrolling, or filling in input.

- **Gemini 2.5 Flash Lite**: And when it's need to make a semantic search in your code-base, this is used.
While it lacks support for C# syntax highlighting or NuGet package management, it boasts several "unique" features:
## AntiGravity Can See Your Website
1. **Physics-Based Refactoring:** Moving a UI element isn't done via CSS or XAML. You simply drag it with your mouse and let gravity do the rest.
2. **Zero-Latency Crashes:** When things fall apart, they do so instantly. There is no loading bar for the chaos.
3. **The "Shake" Build:** If you vigorously shake your browser window, the elements react violently—a perfect metaphor for `dotnet build --force`.
This make a big difference from traditional IDEs. AntiGravity's browser agent is taking screenshots of pages when it wants to check the page. This is achieved by a Chrome Extension as a tool to the agent, and you can also prompt the agent to take a screenshot of a page. For example; it can iterating on website designs and implementations, it can perform UI Testing, it can monitoring dashboards, it can automating routine tasks like rerunning CI.

## The Verdict

Is Google AntiGravity going to replace Visual Studio 2022 for your next enterprise ABP solution? **Absolutely not.**

However, is it an incredible way to decompress after spending four hours debugging an `AsyncHelper` deadlock? **100% yes.**
## MCP Integration
Sometimes, we take our architecture too seriously. Tools like this remind us that at the end of the day, code is just digital blocks that we are trying to stack together without them falling over.
When we need MCP in a code-editor? Simply if we want to connect to a 3rd party service to complete our task we need MCP.
